The new J. Lindsay Embrey School of Engineering Building is his gift to his alma mater, Southern Methodist University. But Lindsay Embrey's lifelong love was basketball. He played basketball for SMU while a student there. Later, he became one of the founders of the National Basketball Association, and owned the Dallas franchise of that league. Hence his portrait, shown here, has a basketball theme. J.H.S.
