1975 – 2008
33 Years in Carnegie Hall

or more than a century, the 170 studio spaces that surround the world-famous concert auditorium were a focus of creativity in the art world of New York, being inhabited by a lively mix of artists, musicians, dancers, writers, architects and others. Elizabeth and I leased Studio 1011 (pictured here) and then later the adjoining Studio 1010. These spectacular spaces, with the best studio light in all of New York, were the focus of our professional work and our family life for more than three decades. It was a sad day when the studios closed forever in 2008. J.H.S.
